The Understudy is a craft establishment in the heart of downtown Columbia, brought to you by the same Mizzou alums that founded The Shot Bar in 2012. We invite fellow students, alumni, visitors and friends to enjoy this dynamic college bar with a menu of classic and signature craft cocktails to fit every palate, wine from the most awarded regions in the world, and a revolving beer list from local and regional brewers.

We are constantly coming up with new drinks, and a full food-pairings menu will be coming soon. With a variety of gourmet sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, cheese and meat boards, tasty grilled cheese and much more, we look forward to providing a high-quality lunch and dinner menu with an emphasis on small plates for quick but filling meals.

Focused on the classics

The Understudy has a drink menu that focuses on classic and signature cocktails, quality wine and craft beer, but we also provide drinks from around the world, including blended frozen drinks, domestic brews and much more.

We aim to provide the best drinking and eating environment in the area. With specials all week long and no cover, we look to bring a college bar to Columbia that breaks the norms without sacrificing the fun. The Understudy has a laid back feel but don’t underestimate us, we are serious about drinks, food and fun, and we look forward to proving it to the community.
